Alloy Steel Gr B7 washers are of chromium-molybdenum steel, i.e., contain iron (Fe) with the addition of carbon (C), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), silicon (Si), chromium (Cr), and molybdenum (Mo). The mechanical properties of such washers are very good and possess high tensile strength of 125 ksi min, yield strength of 105 ksi min, and a hardness of Rockwell C35 max. They provide better wear resistance, hardness, and strength, which qualify them for heavy-duty applications under high pressure and temperature in building, automotive, and heavy machine industries. Their corrosion resistance may be improved using coatings such as zinc or galvanization.
