Carbon Steel AISI 1018 Channel is a low-carbon steel containing about 0.15-0.20% carbon, 0.60-0.90% manganese, 0.04% phosphorus, and 0.05% sulfur. It possesses good weldability, machinability, and moderate strength. Its mechanical properties are a yield strength of 370 MPa (53,700 psi), tensile strength of 440 MPa (63,800 psi), and an elongation of 15-20%. With a Brinell hardness of approximately 126 HB, it is applied extensively in structure and industrial fields where good toughness and formability are needed.
